Sentinel - The album

This album is aimed at people with a searching faith. It is comprised of songs that I have written over the past 17 years and is therefor incredibly varied. Yet, that is how it should be. We are all people with many sides - saint, sinner, oppressed, oppressor, lover, brawler, mocker, worshiper - the list goes on. I am gay and christian and I am recovering from sex addiction. My hope for this album (and all that will follow it) is that it will open the hearts and minds of people to the reality of God and of His Kingdom.

Christian song about addiction

Addiction. I’ve struggle with it for almost half of my life. It is a terrible demonic, corrosive power. It is also my greatest teacher. One night I had a dream of two wolf hounds that were chasing me all over. I jumped up walls and roofs, higher and higher, trying to get away from them. Eventually I was hanging onto a church steeple. The dogs were still on the ground but they could jump very high and they were yapping at my heels. Then the white dog told me that they had been following me through the generations…

I've been writing songs for the past 17 years and have been doing Christian song writing for the past 7 years. I do not have any formulas for writing a great Christian song. If there were a formula it would probably be a modicum of talent for song writing combined with being the best Christian you can be. I believe that it is from the heart of personal revelation that great songs are born.
